The WDR, a German TV broadcaster, wanted to know from us what the situation is regarding mini-jobs in horticulture and what impact the planned reforms might have. A team of three visited us on site and interviewed our boss, Andreas Pellens. What he had to say can be viewed and read (in German) in the media library until 14 July 2027. Here is an extract:

“Andreas Pellens of Pellens Hortensien in Geldern also confirms that many businesses can no longer afford this rise in costs. ‘We currently have many businesses in our sector that are having to close down; these are mainly smaller ones.’ He adds: ‘The larger ones are investing in technology and automation and reducing labour costs because they need fewer staff.’ The result, according to the entrepreneur, is that staff are being made redundant and, in the worst-case scenario, are unable to find further employment.”
